This use case connects digitalization and automation in production and logistics by using autonomous scanning, updated 3D production-site models, and AI-supported digital twins. Existing 3D scans and autonomous transport systems are used as a basis for continuous re-scanning of factory environments, enabling up-to-date spatial data for planning, logistics, assembly, and mobile robot control. AI algorithms are trained on these digital factory models to recognize objects in point clouds, assign physical properties, generate updated maps, and support autonomous material handling. The use case improves routing, inventory, planning quality, process stability, and energy efficiency while reducing travel, manual effort, and business trips.
